Lead Ruby Developer – London – AI

My client is a leading tech start up based in the heart of London. Established in 2015, they have now expanded to over 90 countries working with a number of Blue Chip / Fortune 500 companies.

Their goal is to change the way people gather and utilise information using AI.

Due to a successful 2018, they are looking to expand their team and in turn are looking for a Lead Ruby Developer to lead their London based team.

As a lead developer you will previously have had experience leading small teams of 3 – 5 developers, be process driven with strong engineering skills. You will collaborate with teams across Europe, so communication skills and strong stakeholder management skills are vital.

This is a hands on position, but you are also responsible being a team lead means it is also responsible for guiding and mentoring your junior members, as well as ensuring that the team is efficiently designing, building and maintaining a scalable platform.

Requirements 

● Bsc Computer Science or relative work experience

● 6+ years commercial experience building scalable web base applications

● Proficient with Ruby

● Experience working with Elixir is beneficial.

● Experience working with AWS

● Experienced managing especially relational, but also NOSQL, databases (Bonus points for Postgres specifically)

● Desirable but not essential – React / NodeJS with Typescript.

You must be able to think on your feet, seeing all the angles to best position my client’s platform to best fit a client’s project needs. My client is keen on having characters within their team, they like to see ambitious charismatic people, no egos tho!
