Machine Learning Engineer – Durham, North Carolina – $160-170K

Our client in the Healthtech sector is seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing machine learning algorithms, working with large data sets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop cutting-edge products and solutions.

Responsibilities:

Design, implement and maintain machine learning algorithms and models for various healthtech applications
Develop and optimize data pipelines for large data sets and work with big data technologies such as Apache Spark and Hadoop
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to develop data-driven solutions
Implement and deploy machine learning models in a production environment
Conduct research on new technologies and techniques to improve machine learning models and algorithms
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of team-wide coding standards
Work with DevOps team to ensure that the machine learning infrastructure is scalable and reliable
Communicate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
5+ years of experience as a machine learning engineer or data scientist
Strong proficiency in Python and relevant data science libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Scikit-learn
Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark and Hadoop
Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, natural language processing, and computer vision
Experience deploying machine learning models in a production environment
Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, such as Kubernetes and Docker
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
